Tongue - Standard Length (19") - Blue
Description:
The standard tongue (PT 19) is the component that attaches the trailer to a bicycle. It is 19" long and has cast aluminum clevis on one end and a 7/8" diameter aluminum rod protruding from the other. Also attached are two safety straps and a hitchpin attached to a lanyard. The tongue fits into the tongue mount attached to the trailer frame and is secured with a quick release clamp. The tongue clevis fits the Equinox PH 23 hitch and is secured with the 3/8" hitch pin. The tongue is reenforced with a resin core.
Technical Specifications:
The tongue is made of 1" diameter, .058" wall thickness 6063 T6 Aluminum tube anodized a satin blue. The cast aluminum clevis is attached with a 1/4" x 1 3/4" steel bolt secured with a lock nut. The butt end is made of 7/8" 6061 aluminum rod secured with a 1/4" x 1 3/4" zinc plated steel bolt. The core is composed of urethane pour foam expanded at 25 lbs / sq inch. An additional reenforcing sleeve is fitted over the joint of the aluminum rod and the resin core. This skeeve in 1 1/8" aluminum tube section 1 1/2" long. The safety straps are 1" ployproplyne webbing with 1" Delrin side release buckles.
